Pest Control for Texas Township Homes and Yards

Bigger lots, more woods, different pests

Texas Township isn’t like the city. Homes sit on bigger lots, often backing onto woods, wetlands or one of the township’s lakes, like Crooked Lake and Eagle Lake. Many subdivisions off 8th Street, 9th Street and Texas Drive are newer, but they were cut out of farmland and forest, and the wildlife that lived there didn’t leave. Most of our Texas Township calls are about the yard and the outside of the house, not just bugs in the kitchen.

Mosquitoes, ticks and fleas on large lots

Standing water in low spots, lake edges and tree cover make for heavy mosquito pressure from late spring through summer. Blacklegged (deer) ticks are established in southwest Michigan and like the leaf litter and tall grass where lawns meet the woods. Our organic mosquito, flea and tick program uses a green yard fogger that’s safe for kids and pets, applied monthly from April through October (7 visits a year).

Texas Township yards tend to be big, so here’s how pricing works:

  • Up to 10,000 sq ft of yard: $99 per visit
  • Each additional 10,000 sq ft: add $32

If you only want the house itself treated for spiders, wasps and other insects, our exterior-only summer building spray is $99 per visit from April to October.

Moles, chipmunks and ground squirrels

A big lawn next to woods is perfect mole country. We fumigate mole and chipmunk tunnels with a carbon monoxide sprayer, which leaves no pesticide in the soil and won’t hurt pets or non-target wildlife. All ground-burrowing pests are covered by the same program. Programs run monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly depending on how bad the problem is. Raccoons, groundhogs, opossums and other wildlife

Groundhogs under decks and sheds, raccoons in garages and opossums under porches come with country living. Our humane wildlife removal is a flat $625 for a 7-10 day program. We check and reposition traps every 24-48 hours, and that one price covers unlimited captures. There are no per-animal fees. We also handle skunks. Call (269) 459-1788 for a quote.

Inside the house: mice and fall invaders

When the fields around the township are harvested in the fall, field mice look for shelter, and a garage or crawlspace is the closest one. Our general pest control plans cover rodents and insects inside and out: $165 to start, then $96.25 (Gold, monthly), $99.25 (Silver, 7 visits) or $112.93 (Bronze, quarterly) per visit.

No contract. Our plans are pay-as-you-go, and you can cancel anytime. A $50 cancellation fee applies.

Scheduling: on every plan, the first two visits are two weeks apart.

Buying or selling in Texas Township?

Many new-construction and resale purchases need a wood-destroying insect report for a VA or FHA loan. We do VA/FHA real estate pest inspections for $175.
