One township, three kinds of pest problems
Oshtemo has everything at once. There are apartment complexes and student housing near US-131 and West Main. There are shops and offices along Stadium Drive and the 9th Street corridor. And farther west, toward 1st through 6th Streets, there are family homes on wooded lots and farmland. Each comes with its own pest problems, and Johnson Pest Control handles all three from our base just down the road in Portage.
Apartments and student housing: bed bugs and cockroaches
Lots of renters means lots of moving, and moving is how bed bugs spread. Our organic bed bug treatment uses APPREHEND fungal spores, which kill bed bugs within 4-10 days and keep working for about three months.
- Initial visit: $425-$625
- Two-week follow-up: $99
- Three-month re-treat guarantee, with an optional three-month extension for $425
Cockroaches show up in shared-wall buildings too. Cockroach control and prevention are part of every visit in our general pest control plans.
Businesses along West Main and Stadium
Our 30-day re-treat guarantee covers commercial general pest control as well as residential, so businesses get the same organic approach as our home customers. Call and tell us about your property.
West-side homes: wasps, ants, mice and wildlife
Out toward the Kal-Haven Trail trailhead and the more rural parts of the township, we hear about:
- Yellow jackets and paper wasps in eaves, decks and play sets in late summer, and carpenter bees boring into fascia boards. See wasp and bee control.
- Carpenter ants in damp wood and pavement ants along driveways in spring. See ant control.
- Mice coming in from the fields every fall. See mouse and rat control.
- Raccoons, groundhogs and stray cats under decks and in outbuildings, handled by our flat-rate wildlife removal ($625 for a 7-10 day program, unlimited animals).
